About Mark

Mark Powers served as the Director of the Worship and Music office of the South Carolina Baptist Convention (SCBC) from 2008-2018. God called Mark to this position to lead a missional movement among the music and worship ministries of SC Baptist Churches. His ground-breaking book, GOING FULL CIRCLE: WORSHIP THAT MOVES US TO DISCIPLESHIP AND MISSIONS (Resource Publications, Wipf & Stock, Eugene OR, 2013) grew out of his work to lead this movement. Full Circle Support Groups were established and met monthly during 2014-2018 for resourcing and supporting worship ministries who accepted the call to revitalize worship, make disciples, and lead them on mission to their communities.  GOING FULL CIRCLE BLOG is a “bite-sized” presentation of the book and the stories that grew out of the Going Full Circle movement across those years.
